When i first picked this up I really wasn’t impressed at all. Just another midi controller in my opinion however, to my surprise the MPD 26 works just like most of Akai’s mpc products. Featuring; 16 levels, beat repeat functions, and this is just on the controller itself. Compared to the MPD 24 the MDP26 only has 6 knobs, 6 faders, and the regular 16 velocity sensitive pads. Please don’t get me wrong, this would be good for serato or any other DVS program if we reflect to Ableton live but the 6 knobs will not function well with the 8 mappable micro included in the device setup and there are no presets available for it yet. As a user of the MPD 26 the only thing I can tell you is that no one who is using Ableton is gonna get the same robust features. As, i stated earlier, I am mostly familiar with DJ software DVS(Digital Virtual Systems)— Yeah! that’ll really hold you down. The only catch is that you have to learn your midi CC’s notes etc.,etc. This is just a brief review ; pls stay tuned for more updates!!

Do you even know how to work that 26 with two apps at the same time on one….hell two computers. With out using bomes or midi translator. Learn midi then get back at me.
