The Department of the Navy, through its contract with EDS for NMCI, is entitled to Microsoft’s Home Use Program (HUP) as a volume license owner with Microsoft. The HUP allows government civilian and uniformed personnel (Contractors are ineligible) currently on NMCI to obtain a licensed copy of Microsoft Office, Project or Visio desktop applications to install and use on a home computer, if the products are also currently installed on their NMCI computer.
With this benefit, eligible employees can obtain a licensed copy of most 2007 Microsoft Office system desktop programs to install and use on a home computer. Employees pay only for media (CDs), shipping, and handling. When your employees take advantage of this program, your organization’s bottom line benefits too.
The Home Use Program can help:
Increase employee efficiency. With this program, your employees can use the same Microsoft Office system software at home that they use at work. Increased familiarity with the programs helps employees be more productive on the job.
Reduce your IT burden. Home Use Program customers have found that there are fewer helpdesk calls when employees have the opportunity to improve their software skills at home. Employees also become familiar with new versions, and this can help lower the cost of deployment.
Enhance employee job satisfaction. The Home Use Program supports flexible work and commute options while also providing employees with significant savings on software.
Users who wish to take advantage of this program should visit the Microsoft Home Use Program site. Once on the site, Microsoft will ask for your NMCI email address as well as a program code. For NMCI users, the program code is 4C4AAE0844. URL is http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/sa/benefits/home_use_rights.mspx.
Users who choose to purchase this offering are responsible for paying the administrative costs of obtaining the software, including media and shipping, and may use the software as desired, provided Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) are not used on personal electronic media. Users may obtain only one version of the software at any given time and must comply with all licensing requirements. Eligible software and ordering directions may be found at the Microsoft Home Use Program – Volume Licensing site. The total cost to an govt employee for Office Enterprise 2007 HUP is approximately $21.00. Tell a friend!
