The Deparment of Veterans Affairs continues to provide inadequate assistance to thousands of members who have not received any form of payments for months. Many members are suffering from the ability to pay school tuition and living expenses. VA has blamed the delays on weather issues in their Buffalo location and the inability for staff to perform work.

Unfortunately the lengthy delays have resulted in thousands of individual hardships ranging from rental evictions to members receiving negative credit information due to an inability to pay small debts. VA released this statement on their facebook page,”
Offices responsible for processing GI Bill payments to students were recently closed due to inclement weather. We are in the process of working through these delays and hope to return to normal processing within the next week to ten days.”-  bullsh*t
