The phablet craze is not dying, rather it is heating up and the undisputed champion in that market is Samsung and the Galaxy Note series. Each release brings with it good and bad reviews. As always, there are items that people love and others that people hate. Samsung does its best to actually listen and adjust based on feedback. But will they hit a home run with the new version of the flagship phablet that rules them all? Let’s take a look at the latest rumors, specs and possible launch dates for the 2016 variant.
What We Think We Know
It appears there will be at least two variants of the Galaxy Note 6 hitting the market in the not too distant future with the possibility of up to four. At least one will carry up to 256 GB of internal memory. For a phablet that is supposed to serve as your tablet, laptop, or even desktop that is a must and glad to see Samsung appears ready to rock.
Battery life is obviously very important and the Note 5 missed the mark dreadfully on that front. Heck the phone is geared to power users and could not come close to making it through the day. A misstep to say the least. It appears that Samsung is learning, sort of. While the battery appears to still be fixed and not interchangeable, there appears to be an upgrade to a 4200 mAh size which will go a long way with the complainers.
The camera of the Galaxy Note 6 should more than handle the demands of the average and slightly advanced users. You can expect a whopping 20 MP camera for all those nice shots and an 8 MP rear facing camera to ensure every pimple shows up when you take your selfies.
The display had been rumored to be a 4K display but as we get closer and information starts to flood we begin to see that the 4K will not be coming with the Note 6 and rather it will be a 2K much like the display of the Galaxy S7. Heck that is fine with me and will get the job done. The expected always on SUPER AMOLED display will be sure to impress without a doubt.
More will come as it is made available but have no fear power users. The RAM, processor, and other specifications appear more than ready to meet even your most demanding needs.
Release Date – August 15
Currently the rumored release date on or around August 15th in order to get a one month jump on the new iPhones coming to market in the normal September timeframe. A smart move by Samsung to say the least.
Price – $750 USD
The price feels like it hurts but users have proven that the price point is not to high and will not stop anyone from running out to get the new flagship phablet in the Samsung arsenal.
