The ADT pulse system allows you to connect your security system to your wireless home network which will allow you the awesome benefit of monitoring and securing your home from virtually anywhere. When its functioning, pulse is an awesome feature for those of you who are frequently away from home. The problem with the ADT pulse device is that you cannot completely power cycle or reset the device in order to remedy system and network related issues.
Pulling the plug on the pulse device won’t work either, as it remains active due to the battery backup feature which works great in the event of a power outage. The problem with the ADT Pulse device is at some point in the near future you will experience an internet disconnection which in return will trigger a chain of events that will disconnect the gateway pulse device from the internet, all monitoring and alert capabilities will be lost, and the ADT Pulse smart phone app will also be completely unusable (btw, the app has horrible reviews via the Google Play store).
Have no fear as all is not lost because you’ve come to the right place. Follow these simple instructions on how to reboot/power cycle your ADT pulse device, and bring your system back online.
1. Enter your security code followed by pressing # #
2. Wait several minutes and you should see the power, status, network, and cellular lights turn off or either red and finally back to green.
Check the device status via the online ADT Pulse Portal. Select System –> Click –>Gateway
The Gateway should show a status of online..
